Meditation: Your Brain Will Never Be the Same

Hi Reader,

I hope you have been taking good advantage of your time...because it's passing by too quickly. We are halfway through the year. Unbelievable!

This week, I was packing stuff, putting items in storage, and getting rid of others. And I bet you will not believe one thing I did during this process that made me feel so good. I just got rid of an old desktop, which kept showing time and again that it was on its last legs. But the issue was not getting rid of the computer, but how I did it.

First, I tried to reset to factory settings so I could take it to the recycling. However, after hours of rebooting and on and off screen, there was a problem with it (yeah, it was a really ancient machine), and it couldn't finish the task. So, what did I do?

With a hammer and a few screwdrivers, I took to the task of taking the CPU apart and smashing it piece by piece. Oh, I felt like a kid in a candy store! Even my neighbor came over to check what was going on, "Any interesting project?"

Well, I had to get rid of that thing, and I couldn't risk leaving any of my sensitive information out there for hackers and the sorts.

I'm not the type of person who keeps breaking things or tearing them apart. To be honest, I'm quite the opposite. But this time it felt right. And why am I telling you that? Because in some ways, I engaged in a type of meditation practice. I know, I know. I can hear you saying, "Meditation, what?"

I dedicated a few minutes to a focused and enjoyable activity (being present) without trying to process or give much thought to it. It was just me, the computer, and the present moment.

Now, imagine a practice that not only calms your thoughts but also transforms your brain and overall health. Meditation is that practice.

As you can see, and contrary to many myths, it’s more than just sitting still; it’s a journey within, and that can lead to profound changes in your life.

By dedicating just a few minutes each day, you can unlock a more balanced, happier version of yourself. And this is week's blog chat, I'm sharing what research has to say about the effects of meditation on our brains.
